Our Story

Most people know the story of Ebenezer and the Ghosts, and although we tell story of “Ebby” Scrooge, We made it our own.
The faces are characters from many a WAWA or perhaps your “old neighborhood”.
The Ghost of Christmas Past-a headbanger from 1986. He Ushers scrooge into the 90’s, and its chock full of BMX bikes, Starter jackets and Z Cavaraccis…
The Ghost of Christmas Present, a reformed juvenile delinquent who got caught selling “contraband” out of the back of his Barber shop, born a new, and selling a more wholesome product…”Nice Cream”
The Ghost of Christmas Future: well….thats a secret ;)

Although synonymous, the story of 'ol Ebenezer is but 1/3 of the story we tell. The main narrative we follow is that of Chuck, a 40 year old white dude, amateur writer, who works at The Golden Jawn, a Local Diner. He’s a good guy who longs for more, but cant seem to get out of his own way, allowing the past to dictate his future. He’s writing “the Levittown Christmas Carol”- and he struggles mightily with its ending.

Opposite him is his GRACE, a Young Black Woman from “the other side of the tracks”. A place known in lower bucks as Fleetwing Estates or Bloomsdale. She has a joyful disposition, and she makes a hella delicious cookie…. Her goal is to bring to fruition the dream of her grandmother, and open up “Hollas Bakery”. A dream that was swept away by bureaucracy….and Racism.
We follow their story on Christmas Eve Night, Present day, and at the same time see Ebbys world on the other side of the stage.

This is a nostalgic and refreshing retelling, albeit a touch crude. It’s rough around the edges, and around those edges, Tobacco Stains! A heartfelt and funny show that will no doubt remind you as to what the season is all about….you might even learn a new “Cuss” or Two!
